NEW – NEVER INSTALLED – Watec CI-250K-2 Desalination / Reverse Osmosis System
- NEW COST EXCEEDED $1 MILLION
- Watec CI-250K-2 Seawater Desalination System, can produce 250,000 gallons of fresh water per day; uses thin-film semi-permeable membrane to separate fresh water from the salt in seawater. Centrifugal multi-stage pumps achieve 1100 psi water pressure to drive the reverse osmosis process. The fresh water is routed to storage by a pump and the high pressure brine is routed through an energy recovery device.
- Seawater is introduced through a 15-micron absolute bag filter. The finishing filter is a 2-micron cartridge filter. Inlet flow is controlled with a flow transmitter and valve.
- Protec Pro8-1200-MSP-6 membrane vessels spun of reinforced fiberglass with burst pressure of greater than 5,000 psi.
- Interstage Booster Pump: Carver RS9-BCP 3 stage pump supplies booster pressure for the second stage of the unit.
- High Pressure Charge Pump: Carver RS 9-BCP 15 stage pump develops 2,090 feet of head with a 25 psig suction pressure and is equipped with a 200 hp Baldor motor.
