Stanford G. Davis, Esq. – Chairman Emeritus
Stanford Davis joined his father, Harry, in business in 1974 and was the driving factor in directing Harry Davis & Company’s (HDC) growth to national prominence.
Stan has orchestrated, managed and conducted hundreds of auction sales that have generated hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue across a broad spectrum of manufacturing sectors. His acumen in both industrial equipment and industrial real estate in has proven him an invaluable resource to Trustees, Financial Institutions and Corporate Boards of Directors.
As a member of the Bankruptcy/Trustee section of the Allegheny County Bar Association, he appears regularly in bankruptcy courts providing expert analysis and direction on behalf of creditors, debtors and secured lenders. Stan has conducted seminars to lenders and the Bankruptcy Bar including, “The Liquidation Process – The Auction Solution.”
Both Stan and Harry Davis LLC are members and regular participants in the Industrial Auctioneers Association (IAA), the international group of the world’s most prominent industrial auctioneering firms representing an internet connected world resource for industrial sales around the globe. Stan has written for “The Podium,” the journal of the IAA. Stan is also an active member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association and is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Law (J.D. 1972) and American University (B.S. 1969). Stan is a licensed real estate broker in the state of Pennsylvania and holds auction licenses throughout the United States.
A former No.1 tennis player at American University, he was presented the “Senior Athlete of the Year” award in 1969 across all varsity sports, and is currently a single digit handicap golfer.
Leonard Davis – Chief Executive Officer
Leonard (Lenny) Davis is the CEO of Harry Davis & Company. His expert analysis has been recognized by the worldwide food & beverage industry. In addition to the scores of auction sales and appraisals performed each year, Lenny has successfully brokered operational food production facilities for continued operations on behalf of multi-billion-dollar global food conglomerates, Fortune 500 Corporations, financial institutions, secured creditors, single location companies, bankruptcy courts/trustees and many others worldwide.
He also maintains lifelong auction and appraisal experience within the pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, machine tool, plastics, metalworking, printing, refractory, chemical processing, construction, woodworking and many other industries.
Lenny is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh and maintains auction licenses throughout the United States, graduating from the Missouri Auction School in 1997. He is a member of the American Society of Appraisers, Equipment Appraisers Association of North America, National Auctioneers Association and the Industrial Auctioneers Association.
Lenny takes great pride as the 3rd generation to lead Harry Davis & Company. When not traveling for business, Lenny can be found on the tennis courts and golf course with his wife and four school-aged daughters in suburban Pittsburgh. Lenny is honored to serve on the board of directors of non-profit organizations including The Friendship Circle of Pittsburgh and Adat Shalom Synagogue, while also donating his time to other non-profit organizations by conducting live auctions for charity events.
Aaron Morgenstern – President
Aaron Morgenstern brings a strong history of success and business development experience coupled with superb people skills and problem-solving abilities to Harry Davis & Company. Aaron manages our relationships and oversees appraisals throughout North America. Whether on the auction floor or in the boardroom, Aaron’s commitment to excellence and can-do attitude are real assets for Harry Davis & Company, the firm that his grandfather founded more than seven decades ago.
Prior to joining our firm, Aaron served in a senior management role for US Foodservice at their South Florida and Baltimore Divisions, where his Washington, DC, sales teams sold over half a billion dollars. Aaron played a crucial role in training new sales people and was responsible for business development and maintaining customer relationships.
In January 2011, Aaron became a Senior Instructor with the American Society Of Appraisers for Machinery And Technical Specialties. He is also a Senior Machinery and Technical Specialties Appraiser with the American Society of Appraisers and a member of the Equipment Appraisers Association Of North America. A former US Marine and triathlon enthusiast, Aaron attended Georgetown University and serves on the board of the directors of several local charities, assists with local school athletic programs and, along with his wife Donielle, is the parent of three wonderful children.
Joseph Joyce, ASA – Chief Financial Officer
Joseph Joyce has been a part of Harry Davis and Company since 2016, bringing a strong analytical approach to managing asset solution campaigns. His broad public and private experience is invaluable in working across the spectrum of business services offered by Harry Davis and Company.
Joseph has achieved the designation of Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA) by the American Society of Appraisers. This honor illustrates a specialized expertise in appraising machinery and equipment assets, and lends a specialized knowledge base to Harry Davis & Company’s asset valuation expertise.
Joe is a graduate of Ursinus College in Southeastern Pennsylvania, where he was a recipient of the President’s award during commencement. Joseph has a Master’s of Public Affairs from the University of Pittsburgh and attended the University of Pittsburgh’s Katz School of Business for accounting. His studies have focused on economics, statistical analysis, and cost management.
Previously, Joe worked for the American Cancer Society, where he was award the Staff Partner of the Year in 2009 and increased income by 306%. He was a senior financial analyst for the Port Authority of Allegheny County, where he oversaw the implementation of a business intelligence program to identify key performance metrics. As the financial controller for Badger Industries, a metal expasion joint fabrication company outside of Pittsburgh, PA. Joseph oversaw the entire accounting department including asset management, and directed a multi-departmental team to analyze cost performance.
Joseph is a member of the American Society of Appraisers and a member of the Institute of Management Accountants. In his spare time, he enjoys volunteering for the March of Dimes.
Bryan Bowman – Vice President, Marketing
Bryan Bowman is responsible for directing the marketing of Harry Davis & Company, driving auction attendance, creating awareness for HDC across various industries, and producing all of our printed materials, website, corporate branding and visual content. His passion for videography and design are driving a new look and feel for Harry Davis & Company, elevating our exposure to buyers, sellers, and industry groups.
Before joining Harry Davis & Company, Bryan worked for the Pittsburgh Technology Council, a non-profit leading the local technology scene through Pittsburgh’s unprecedented rebranding from rustbelt city to technology hub. For the 10 years prior, Bryan worked as the marketing manager for The Professional Services Council (PSC), the national non-profit advocacy organization representing government contractors. He’s worked with major government officials and speakers, Fortune 500 CEOs, and managed the modernization, rebranding, and marketing growth of PSC.
Bryan graduated Summa Cum Laude from the Robert E. Cook Honors College at Indiana University of PA, and is an avid drummer and disc golfer in his spare time.
Dennis Suba – Senior Site Supervisor
Dennis’ experience and knowledge of machinery & equipment is an invaluable asset to Harry Davis & Company. For over 30 years, Dennis has managed the on-site auction preparation responsibilities throughout numerous industries including Food & Beverage, Pharmaceutical, Nutriceutical, Machine Tool, Plastics, Metalworking, Printing, Refractory, Chemical Processing, Construction, Woodworking and many others.
Dennis’ valuation acumen has been relied upon over the course of thousands of appraisal reports for Harry Davis & Company clients. Dennis regularly performs appraisal duties across a broad spectrum of industrial categories.
James L. Weisman, Esq. – Of Counsel
James Weisman has been our independent outside counsel for more than 40 years. He is thoroughly familiar with the legal aspects of our business and has effectively managed contract matters with our clients and customers.
Jim has significant experience in bankruptcy and asset liquidation matters. He has appeared in bankruptcy courts throughout the United States representing liquidators, secured creditors and debtors. He has also represented clients in acquisitions and disposition of companies and appeared in their behalf in various state and federal courts. Jim has been named by his peers as a Super Lawyer in bankruptcy matters and has an AV Pre-Eminent Rating, the highest rating for competency and ethics, in Martindale-Hubble the prominent peer rating legal directory.
Prior to reducing his practice to concentrate on representing us and a few select clients in business matters, Jim served as a director of a New York Stock Exchange company for 11 years chairing its nominating and corporate governance committee and special committees for financing and merger negotiations. He has participated in various seminars and was an invitee of Corporate Board Member Magazine to participate in an educational roundtable with a select number of prominent directors and a leading business school professor on governance issues.
Jim is a graduate of the Wharton School and the University of Pennsylvania Law School and has served as a trustee of a leading non-profit institute providing special education and related services for children with disabilities in Western Pennsylvania.
